Aluminium saucepans, kettles etc
Take these to your local Household Waste Recycling Centre (HWRC). Click here to see your nearest Household Waste Recycling Centre.
Abandoned Vehicles
Telephone 0161 872 5050 if you think a vehicle in your neighbourhood has been abandoned. Your call will be confidential. You just tell them the location of the car, its registration number and, if you can, the make and model, colour and how long it's been there. After it has been checked out and if appropriate it will be removed within 24 hours.
Acids
Unused household acids may come within the Household Hazardous Waste Scheme. Contact Raikes Lane Household Waste Recycling Centre 01204 529894 for disposal information.
Adhesives and glues
If you are unable to use these up completely they can be taken to your local Household Waste Recycling Centre. Click here to see your nearest Household Waste Recycling Centre.
Aerosols
Put these (empty only) in your green box or you can take these to your nearest Bring Site. Click here to see your nearest Bring Site.
Aluminium Cans

Ammunitions and explosives
Report immediately to Greater Manchester Police Station on 0161 872 5050.
Antifreeze
You can give antifreeze to your friends and family (if they want it) or your local mechanic. Alternatively, you can take to your local Household Waste Recycling Centre (HWRC). Click here to see your nearest Household Waste Recycling Centre.

Please return to your local hospital if you can or telephone 0208 789 6611 so that they can be sent to poorer nations where they will be reused.

Ash
Coal ash: Please place in your grey bin (cold ash only). Wood ash: This can be added to your compost heap (in small quantities) or you can place it in your grey bin (cold ash only).
